![]() Pushing down on the stick, I put the Raider between me and the 75, skitching behind the little warship and using it for cover. Just a kilometer ahead is a 150-meter-long Imperial Raider, which just dropped in from hyperspace to join the party. Star Wars: Squadrons: what it’s like to fly every ship With a little more speed, maybe this time I can evade them. In the last few passes, they’ve chewed me apart. The bigger problem at hand, however, are the multiple turbolaser batteries bristling on the New Republic Star Cruiser’s dorsal side. I’ve only been playing for a little while, and I’m not quite sure how long I have before the charge dissipates. With just a little over half the laser’s charge stored up, I tap the directional pad to ease more power over to my engines. Even with a partial charge, the beam laser is a monster that can do serious damage to even the largest capital ships. If I can close with the 75 without getting shot out of the sky, I have a decent chance of ending the match. I’m slowly building up a charge on a ridiculous and powerful beam laser. Inside my TIE bomber, I’ve put all power to my weapons systems. Now it’s time for the Empire to make its final push. A back-and-forth Fleet Battle has been raging for the better part of 30 minutes inside the Nadiri Dockyards, as a New Republic MC75 Star Cruiser and the Imperial Star Destroyer I rode in on play a high-stakes game of chicken. ![]() I hope there are some games out there that fit my criteria that I am just unaware of.I’m three and a half hours into a marathon demo of Star Wars: Squadrons, the new combat spaceflight simulator from Electronic Arts. Other games that somewhat or almost fit the criteria I have played or that I am aware of: Games where you control a very small fleet instead of just one single capital ship might work to like Battlestar Galactica Deadlock, tough I would prefer games where you just command one single vessel. I don't mind if the games play on a 2d plane but with 3d models, like in Rebel galaxy, but I am not to into space games with a 2d art style. Ship customization (armament, squadron complement, etc.) is great, I just don't want to completely build the shape of the ship.Īlso I am not a big fan of 2d space games. I don't like games where you completely build your ship out of blocks like in space engineers. I don't mind multiplayer games, as long as I can control the capital ships all on my own (so games like Star Citizen are out) and as long as they don't require me do devote my live to getting good at them (so Eve is out too.) ![]() By that I mean games like the X series that are more about empire management than about commanding a single capital space ship or space RTS's games that are about building and commanding a whole fleet/empire (games like: Homeworld, Sins of a solar Empire etc.) I am not saying that the game can't have other aspects, they just should not be the primary focus of the game. So I am not talking about games that are primarily about other things that also allow you to command capital ship. Something like the old Star Trek Bridge Commander or Dreadnought or Rebel galaxy. I am talking about games where you primarily control and command a single capital space ship. I am looking for games where you command / control a capital space ship. I love space games a much as the next sci-fi fan but I have to say I am absolutely saturated with space games where you fly a small star fighter size craft. TL, DR: I am looking for space games where you command a capital space ship. r/lowendgaming - Game suggestions for yesterday's hardware This includes key resellersįor more information about these rules click here This includes referral links.ĭon't enable, encourage, or link to piracy.
